OSDP Proximity Readers in Roger's Portfolio

Roger's portfolio has been extended with proximity readers supporting the OSDP v2.2 protocol. The readers can be used both in Roger's access control systems and third-party systems.

OSDP (Open Supervised Device Protocol) is a standard for two-way, secure communication of access control devices developed by the Security Industry Association (SIA). This protocol supports advanced AES-128 encryption and constantly monitors the cabling, protecting the system from sabotage attempts (e.g., counteracts the man-in-the-middle method). OSDP, increases the level of security and functionality of communication in the access control system, at the same time simplifies the cabling infrastructure, requiring only a four-wire cable for transmission and power supply.

The readers introduced to the offer enable identification of users in the system by means of 13.56 MHz MIFARE Ultralight/Classic/DESFire/Plus cards, as well as a mobile device (phone) equipped with NFC or Bluetooth technology. The miniature, external OSR80M-BLE reader provides two function buttons, and due to its dimensions, it can be installed on posts, cabinets, or lockers. The OSR88M-IO reader is equipped with I/O lines, a colour graphic display, and four function buttons and can be used as a terminal for user identification, time recording, or as equipment rental control.

These readers are intended for access control installations that require a high level of security, such as the public sector, banks, industrial facilities, etc. Due to the offered identification methods and additional functionality, they are also used in the commercial sector, leisure facilities, healthcare, and many others.
