The MCT84M series readers are internal access terminals designed to work in the RACS 5 access control system.
The readers act as subordinate devices to the access controller and cannot supervise the door on their own. MCT84M terminals enable reading both the serial number of the proximity card (CSN) and the programmable number (PCN) stored in the encrypted memory sectors on the card. The use of a programmable card number protects it against duplication, which significantly increases the security level of the entire access control system.
Communication with the controller takes place via the modified RS485 standard, which allows for the creation of star and tree cabling structures. The communication bus to which the reader is connected can be up to 1200 m long and can be made with any kind of signal cable. Device configuration and firmware update are performed via the RS485 interface and RogerVDM software (Windows).
The front panel of the reader is made of glass, which makes it highly durable and scratch-resistant, and additionally provides a noble aesthetic effect of the device. The housing of the reader has a neutral design, thanks to which it fits well in both traditional and modern interiors, as well as those of a historic and museum character. The relatively small width of the reader housing allows it to be mounted on the door frame or structural profiles.
