About

MCX2-BRD is an input and output expander designed to work in the RACS 5 access control system.

The expander provides two parametric input lines and two relay outputs. Each of the inputs can be individually parameterized in terms of the reaction time and topology of the attached contacts and resistors. Optionally, the inputs can be configured for double wiring mode, which enables the connection of two independent NO or NC contacts to each of the inputs and thus doubling the number of input signals monitored by the expander. Each of the relay outputs provides a normally open and normally closed contact and can be switched off in the idle state (the so-called normal polarity) or on (the so-called reverse polarity).

Communication with the controller takes place via the modified RS485 standard, which allows for the creation of star and tree cabling structures. The communication bus to which the expander is connected may be up to 1,200 m long and be made using any type of signal cable.

Device configuration and firmware update are performed via the RS485 interface and RogerVDM software (Windows).
