MCX102-BRD is an input and output expander designed to work in the RACS 5 access control system.

The expander offers two NO / NC type inputs, one relay output and one transistor output. The relay output has a normally open and normally closed contact. The outputs can be switched off in the idle state (the so-called normal polarization) or on (the so-called reverse polarity). Two PRT series readers (RACS CLK / DTA interface) or one reader with Wiegand 24..66 bit interface can be connected to the expander. The readers connected to the expander can be used on the same principles as the MCT series readers connected directly to the controller RS485 bus.

Communication with the controller takes place via a modified RS485 standard which allows the creation of star and tree cabling structures. The communication bus to which the expander and controller are connected can be up to 1200 m long and can be made with any type of signal cable.

Configuring the device and updating its firmware is performed via the RS485 interface and dedicated RogerVDM and RogerISP programs.
