Standard access control is a solution designed to implement popular, commonly expected functionality in the field of access control (AC). Systems of this type enable the management of people traffic in the facility using typical access control scenarios and usually do not offer additional functions such as building automation or integration with security management platforms (PSIM, SMS, VMS, CCTV).
Standard access control systems are usually used in small and medium-sized facilities, but they can also be successfully used in large and even very large AC installations, as long as they are to provide typical access control logic. An important feature of standard access control systems is, on the one hand, the ease of their installation and configuration, and, on the other hand, the simplicity of their management. In most cases, the installation of standard systems can be performed by a low-voltage system installer with average and in some cases even little professional experience.
The management of this type of system can be carried out as part of the additional responsibilities of an IT technician or a person from the human resources or administration department who has been trained by the installer. The costs of purchasing devices and installing a system of this class are usually much lower than the costs of installing an advanced business class (Enterprise) AC system.
