A common way to accomplish this goal is through the use of lockers and storage compartments. In the workplace, they are used for storing employees' clothes, valuable company equipment, tools, mobile phones, or for internal mail exchange. In recreational facilities, lockers are used to store the clothes of guests of the facility, while in medical facilities they are used to store medicines. Securing access with a traditional key has many disadvantages and hence switching to electronic solutions that allow easy access management and audit, seems to be a natural choice. Access control to lockers and cabinets can be performed via a dedicated RCC512 cabinet controller or in the RACS 5 access control system using the MC16-LRC controller. The MC16-LRC controller enables the implementation of basic access control to employee lockers, where the user has access to his locker/cabinets. The management and monitoring of the locker system are carried out from the level of the same software as the management of the access control system for doors, significantly improving the day-to-day operation of both solutions. For applications that go beyond the typical service of employee locker rooms, a solution based on the RCC512 controller is recommended. The RCC512 controller allows you to organize systems of lockers managed from an autonomous control panel. In addition to the typical cabinet access management work scenario, this controller enables many additional usage scenarios. One of them is the postal machine mode, which works similarly to the commonly used parcel machines and enables intermediation in the transfer of parcels or other property (mail) between system users. Another specialized mode of operation of the RCC512 controller is the tool locker mode, which enables the construction of an automated production warehouse, thus conforming to the idea of Industry 4.0. The RCC512 controller can be used in any place requiring controlled access to a locker, cabinet, etc. The most typical application areas include: swimming pool lockers, employee lockers (health and safety lockers), electronic mailboxes (parcel machines), tool lockers, and guest lockers.
