The device is equipped with a proximity card reader, a two-colour LED light bar indicator and a set of built-in I/O lines including one relay output. The terminal constantly monitors the presence of the card in the holder and reports its status to the controller. In response to inserting and removing the card from the holder, the controller undertakes an individually programmed action, which may additionally depend on the rights assigned to the card. The built-in I/O lines of the terminal can be configured for various control and automation functions. The pocket is mainly used as an intelligent electrical switch, the state of which depends on the presence of the card in the holder. In particular, it can be used to control the electrical power supply of a room, machine, or device. As the MCT82M-IO-CH card holder supports encrypted sectors of MIFARE® cards, it is possible on the one hand to block the operation of other, not original, proximity cards and, on the other, to protect the original cards against duplication. The pocket requires a connection to an access controller that controls the system operation logic.
